Garlic packs more than just intense, delicious flavor to your favorite meals. Garlic is a powerhouse of nutrients which are all beneficial to our body. What makes raw garlic so beneficial?
Garlic contains alliin and alliinaseacillin within the clove. Once the garlic clove is chopped, crushed, or chewed alliin and alliinaseacillin creat allicin, a defensive compound. I refer to garlic as nature’s penicillin. If you’re sick, garlic is the answer. It’s a powerful antibiotic that is either forgotten or disregarded. Science uses it for their studies on rats and mice and have success. I’m not sure why the average person still favors pills to garlic… garlic is much cheaper and incredibly safer.

Excessive mucus causes the common cold, flu, asthma, allergies, bronchitis, pneumonia, COPD, cystic fibrosis, and gastrointestinal conditions and even lung cancer. The allicin in garlic thins out mucus and helps to remove it from the body. You’ll even see the mucus come out in your urine and stools! Gross but kind of cool! For reference, I chop or mince garlic and add it to the top of our food – it’s the final ingredient added to our meals every day. I eat just one clove daily unless I feel more stuffy than usual, then I may eat 2.
